Birdwatching: First Sunday Outings
Join a member of the Brooklyn Bird Club to explore Prospect Park in search of the many bird species found throughout the year. Along the way, you’ll learn about the park’s diverse habitats, the birds that depend on them and seasonal highlights. Birders of all ages and experience levels are welcome. No registration is required. What to Bring: Bring your binoculars along with comfortable walking shoes, water, and weather-appropriate clothing. Please Note: Pets are not permitted on this outing. Outings are held rain or shine unless severe weather makes conditions unsafe. Route Description: This outing is at an easy pace with frequent stops to observe birds. Routes may vary each week depending on bird activity and park conditions. Participants can expect paved paths, dirt trails, grassy areas, slight inclines and occasional steps.
