Terms of use

Plain terms for a free, public events guide. Using the site means you accept them.

The service

NYC Now Guide (nycnowguide.com) is a free guide to public events in New York City. It is provided as it is, with no charge and no account. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.

The site is an independent publication operated by Alex Oz as a sole publisher — not a company, not a city agency, and not affiliated with any venue or organiser listed on it. Reach the publisher at hello@nycnowguide.com.

Accuracy of listings

Event details are gathered automatically from organisers' public listings. The organiser is always the authority on dates, times, prices, tickets and cancellations, and every listing links back to their page. Events get moved, sold out and cancelled, sometimes with no notice — check the organiser before you travel.

We do not sell tickets, take bookings or act as an agent for any organiser, and we are not a party to anything you buy from them.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • scrape, copy or republish the listings in bulk, or use them to build a competing database;
  • place automated load on the site beyond ordinary reading — the crawl rules in robots.txt and the sitemap exist for legitimate crawlers;
  • attempt to break, probe or circumvent the site's security, or access any part not meant to be public;
  • use the site for anything unlawful.

Reading, linking and sharing individual pages is welcome and needs no permission.

Content and rights

Event titles, descriptions and any photographs supplied with a listing belong to the organisers, and are shown here to point people at their events. Venue photographs are used under open licences and credited on the photo credits page. The site's own design, code, editorial text and the collection as a whole belong to us.

If you hold rights in something published here and want it removed, write to us with the URL through the contact page and we will act on it promptly.

Advertising

Paid placements are always labelled Sponsored. They do not influence which events are listed, how they are ordered, or how they are described. An advertiser buys a slot, not editorial treatment.

Advertisers are responsible for their own claims and for the pages they link to. A booking is an agreement with the publisher named above, on the written terms confirmed for that booking — dates, placement, price and what happens if either side cancels. Nothing on the advertising page is an offer that binds either of us until those terms are confirmed in writing.

Links to other sites

Outbound links are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability or their handling of your data.

No warranty, and limits on liability

The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of information. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or your reliance on a listing — including a journey made to an event that was moved, cancelled or sold out. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top of the page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and the courts of New York County have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting rights you may have under the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence.
