Bushwick Community Garden Walking Tour with NYRP & Chenae Bullock

Poster House and New York Restoration Project (NYRP) will host a guided walking tour through Bushwick's Cooper, Decatur, and Aberdeen community gardens, presented in connection with the exhibition Designed to Be Red: Native American & Indigenous Poster Works . DK Kinard, NYRP's Director of Community Engagement, will co-lead the tour with Chenae Bullock, founder of Moskehtu Consulting, who will bring historical and cultural context to each stop. Together, they will trace the history of the land itself, point out local plants growing in the gardens and how they have traditionally been used, and speak to the continuing legacy of Indigenous peoples in New York City today. This program is free to attend, with a suggested donation of $10 to support Poster House's public programming. Donations will be accepted on-site during the event. Chenae Bullock (Shinnecock Nation, African American) is a Licensed Practitioner of Indigenopathic Medicine Research (LPIM), the founder & CEO of Moskehtu Consulting, and a portfolio associate for Turtle Island Community Capital. As the Founder & CEO of Moskehtu Consulting, a cultural and heritage preservation firm, Chenae’s work has been featured on such prestigious platforms as SXSW, Forbes , Rolling Stone , TEDx, and more. By integrating traditional Indigenous wisdom into sustainability frameworks, Chenae fosters cultural understanding, environmental stewardship, and meaningful partnerships. Her work amplifies Indigenous voices, honors ancestral knowledge, and advances the preservation of cultural and environmental heritage while creating impact on a global scale. New York Restoration Project (NYRP) believes that access to nature is a fundamental right for all New Yorkers. Working in partnership with communities across the five boroughs, NYRP renovates community gardens, restores parks, plants trees, supports urban agriculture, and builds green spaces in often underserved neighborhoods.
