Join NYC Parks Conservation and Monitoring team and learn about the rapid site assessment protocol as part of City of Forest Day. This process was designed as part of our forest management framework to quickly assess the ecological health of a specific forest area. Participants will learn about this process, how NYC Parks uses it, and how plant identification is a key component of this process. Please bring water and a snack as well as your smartphone or camera. Come dressed in sturdy boots

Participants will learn about this process, how NYC Parks uses it, and how plant identification is a key component of this process. Please bring water and a snack as well as your smartphone or camera. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes, long sleeves, long socks, long pants, and clothing that can get dirty. Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. To sign up a group of 2 or more volunteers please reach out to stewardship@parks.nyc.gov.
