Managing Invasive Plants in Community Gardens

This workshop introduces gardeners to practical strategies for identifying, managing, and preventing invasive plant species in community garden spaces. Participants will learn how to recognize common invasive plants found in urban gardens, understand their impact on local ecosystems, and explore effective methods for control and long-term management. Topics include plant identification, seasonal timing for removal, mechanical and cultural management techniques, restoration practices after removal, and discussion of which approaches are most effective in urban growing environments.
