MOCA Queer StoryJAM #7 – Age

Free Admission Age can mean many things. It is a number, a marker of time, and a record of the experiences that shape us. As we grow older, we may learn more about ourselves, our identities, and what we want from our lives. But age can also become a source of judgment, expectation, and discrimination—shaping how others see us and how we see ourselves. MOCA Queer StoryJAM returns for another intimate and powerful gathering, amplifying the voices of queer Asian Americans through storytelling. This time, we explore AGE —how we grow, change, and come to know ourselves, and how age shapes our experiences of being queer. Through personal narratives, LGBTQ+ Asian American storytellers will reflect on growing up, coming out, changing relationships, intergenerational experiences, aging, and the expectations that come with age. Following the storytellers, audience members are invited to share their own stories. Join us for an evening of storytelling, reflection, and connection—where we explore the many ways age shapes who we have been, who we are, and who we are still becoming.
