National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer event for public lands. Held every year on the fourth Saturday of September, National Public Lands Day bring people together to care for, maintain, and restore public lands while connecting communities to these treasured spaces. Join us as we partner with the National Park Service to care for the historic grounds of General Grant National Memorial ! We’ll work together to give back to this special public space through landscape maintenance and litter clean-up. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate in an educational tour of the memorial led by the National Park Service, learning more about the site’s history and significance while helping care for its grounds. Note: This event is open to volunteers of all ages . Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To register please click on the link below: https://NationalPublicLandsDayRiversideParkConservancy.eventbrite.com What to wear/bring: • Your own (filled!) water bottle • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes • Long pants • Comfortable clothing that can get dirty We will provide all tools/materials needed for the project. Please keep personal belongings with you at all times, as we do not have a secure storage area. For the safety of our staff and volunteers, if you are feeling sick or unwell on the day of the project, please stay home. It is not worth the risk to you or to others.
