Join us for THE WAITING ROOM: Endometriosis, Body Autonomy, and Collective Care, a free public gathering at Weeksville Heritage Center in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, on Saturday, October 3, 2026. RESERVE YOUR SPOT Centering endometriosis education, body autonomy, and our collective responsibility to care for one another, The Waiting Room gathers us to honor the knowledge carried in our bodies and consider what we can build, demand, and practice while we wait for science, health insurance, and government policy to catch up with our lived realities. The day includes an accessible introduction to understanding endometriosis, a panel discussion, a participatory workshop, community resources, and opportunities to share your story. Panelists: Dr. Jessica Opoku-Anane, Dr. Monica R. McLemore, Jamila Williams Kane NP, and Shakira K. O'Garro LMHC Everyone is invited to listen, learn, contribute, and help imagine more expansive possibilities for individual and communal care. Created and curated by multidisciplinary artist and educator Amyra León, The Waiting Room marks the inaugural public gathering of the Chronic Arts Coalition, a new initiative founded by León to center those living and creating with chronic conditions while reckoning with the chronic conditions of society. Presented in collaboration with Weeksville Heritage Center, with support from Brooklyn Arts Council and the Endometriosis Foundation of America. This event is free and open to all ages.
