Open House New York Weekend 2026: dates, tickets and how to plan it

Open House New York Weekend is on Friday to Sunday, October 16–18, 2026, from 10am to 6pm. It is the 24th year of the festival, and more than 300 sites across all five boroughs take part: private clubs, infrastructure, new towers, historic interiors, studios and landscapes that you cannot normally get into.

It is run by the nonprofit Open House New York with around 1,000 volunteers, and about 50,000 people take part. Hours vary by site, so check each listing before you go.

Most sites are drop-in: you just turn up during open hours. Some sites and tours need a ticket because of space or security, and at those sites access is limited to ticket holders.

The majority of OHNY sites are free with no ticket, and a good weekend can be built entirely from them. Drop-in sites can have lines, especially on Saturday afternoon, so start early and cluster your visits by neighborhood.

The festival also groups sites into collections. In 2026 these include a Family Friendly collection, a Bloomberg Connects collection and WTC at 25, marking 25 years since September 11.

Three days and 300 sites is too much. Pick one or two neighborhoods per day, where several sites are within walking distance, and add one ticketed site as an anchor if you get one. Friday, a working day for most people, is usually the easiest day for lines if you can take it off.
